Garrett is an Operating Partner at Playground Global, where he supports the firm’s deep tech portfolio. He brings over 15 years of experience in investment banking, engineering, and military leadership.
Prior to joining Playground Global, Garrett spent eight years in investment banking where he advised companies on M&A, IPOs, financing, and strategic initiatives. He worked with companies across various industries and most recently focused on advising technology companies while at Goldman Sachs.
Before his career in finance, Garrett served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, where he was a Ranger-qualified Engineer Officer. He was deployed to Iraq and later led the development of large-scale infrastructure projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Garrett holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Outside of work, Garrett enjoys quality time with his nephews, challenging himself in pilates, delving into philosophy and meditation, and discovering new destinations and cuisines.
