Shinya joined Playground in 2015 and is responsible for the green energy ecosystem development surrounding ammonia, a major zero-carbon fuel candidate next to hydrogen.

Prior to Playground, he worked at WebTV, Microsoft, and OnLive, where he worked on digital media devices’ hardware design, firmware, and driver-level software development.

Shinya graduated from USC with a bachelor of science in computer science.

When he is not busy researching green energy topics, Shinya enjoys working on a never-ending art car and themed camp project for Burning Man, regularly camping at Pinnacle National Park, and listening to audiobooks about the universe, energy, and quantum mechanics in search of resonance, patterns, and vibration that make everything interact.
